This Christmas, we're asking you to help us make twice the difference for local families facing some of life's most difficult moments.

Last year's Big Give Christmas Challenge raised more than £70,000 for HospiceCare North Northumberland, thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters.

This year, we're asking our community to come together once again.

Whether you can give £5, £50 or £500, every donation made during the campaign could be worth twice as much, helping us provide more care, comfort and support to local families.

​

From midday on Tuesday 1st December until midday on Tuesday 8th December, HospiceCare North Northumberland will be taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, giving you the opportunity to have your donation doubled at no extra cost to you.

​

For one week only, donations made through our official Big Give campaign page will be matched pound for pound, while match funding is available.

That means:

• Donate £10 and we receive £20.

• Donate £25 and we receive £50.

• Donate £50 and we receive £100.

• Donate £100 and we receive £200.
   

Whatever you can give, your generosity could go twice as far.

Every day, families across North Northumberland face the challenges of caring for someone with a life-limiting illness. For many, being able to remain at home, surrounded by familiar comforts and the people they love, means everything.

 

 Our Hospice at Home team provides compassionate, specialist support to adults living with life-limiting illnesses, including cancer, motor neurone disease, advanced dementia and heart disease. We help people remain comfortable, supported and cared for in their own homes, while offering reassurance and practical support to their families and loved ones. 

 

But providing this care comes at a cost. It costs approximately £1.3 million each year to deliver our charitable services, yet we receive just £47,200 in NHS funding. The overwhelming majority of our income must come from fundraising, charitable donations, grants and the generosity of our local communities. 

 

That's why campaigns like the Big Give are so important.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is live for just seven days:

Campaign opens: Tuesday 1st December 2026 at 12 noon

Campaign closes: Tuesday 8th December 2026 at 12 noon

To have your donation matched, you must donate through our official Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign page during Live Week, while matching funds remain available.
