HospiceCare is delighted to welcome Jan Calderwood Fine Art with her delightful paintings as a long-term supporter of the Hospice. Jan has very kindly offered to make a substantial donation to the Hospice from the sales of her paintings.

 

We are delighted to welcome Jan to the Hospice website and in her own words, Jan is here to tell you a little about herself and why she supports the Hospice.

 

“As a lifelong artist I am thrilled to live in Northumberland with so many wonderful subjects to inspire me:- huge skies, fabulous beaches and the sea, amazing castles, gorgeous landscapes and wildlife.

 

 I’ve been a professional artist for decades, exhibiting my work and taking commissions including pet portraits. I also teach painting online and in person. I was Head Judge on art competitions when I lived for many years in Spain, and I taught art there to many happy students. Now back in Northumberland I continue to teach online and in person.
 

I work in watercolour, oils and acrylics to create light-filled paintings celebrating nature and life. Inspired by the Impressionists, I aim to capture fleeting light effects and a sese of movement.

 

The Hospice Care at Home, Alnwick, helped me hugely when my husband became terminally ill and to thank them I would  like to make a substantial donation from the sales of my originals and prints. Their work is a lifesaver for carers and I am pleased that my artistic ability can in some measure contribute to the support they offer."
