Vacancy - Bank Hospice Nursing Assistants Band 3
23rd November 2020

We are looking for flexible and motivated Bank Hospice Nursing Assistants to work as part of our Hospice at Home Team.  You will be working in patient’s homes and will be responsible for the provision of their individual care and other duties as requested by the service. You will work autonomously and be responsible for undertaking a broad range of duties relating to the patients' care as directed by the Hospice at Home Clinical Team.  You will act as valuable support to our Hospice Support Workers.

Hospice at Home is the core service that HospiceCare North Northumberland provides. The service exists to meet the needs of patients with any life-limiting illness who have a palliative and/or end-of-life care need. The service operates throughout the whole of North Northumberland 365 days a year and aims to be flexible and responsive to the needs of patients families and carers, we primarily provide visits for personal care, respite care, and overnight care.


What we need:

  • A minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent

  • A minimum of 12 months recent experience in a healthcare role providing care, preferably within palliative and end-of-life care

  • Ability to work without direct supervision within the bounds of the Hospice Nursing Assistant role

  • Awareness and passion for Palliative Care

  • Computer literate

  • Ability to support our Hospice Support Workers

  • Flexibility to work throughout the week including nights and weekends

Vacancy - Central Support Administrator
17th November 2020

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at HospiceCare North Northumberland, as one of our Central Support Administrator’s for our Alnwick based office.

You will work as part of a team with staff and volunteers to provide administrative support to the Hospice. You will be working as part of a job share for 22.5 hours per week, worked over 3 days. The salary for this role is £18,462 pro-rata.

To succeed in this role

You will be skilled in performing administrative tasks and duties, which should include the competent use of all Microsoft Office applications. You will have excellent organisational and time management skills, and be able to prioritise as well as multi-task. You will excel at working as part of a team and on your own initiative, and possess excellent customer service skills including a good telephone manner and excellent listening skills. Confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive and personal information is a must due to the nature of the role.
