How we help

We provide emotional and practical care and support across North Northumberland to adults and their families, who are living with a life-limiting illness requiring palliative input, through our hospice at home, bereavement support, and dementia support services. Our care is delivered free at the point of need.

"HospiceCare to me means we get to participate in one of the most private times in a person’s life, we are able as a team, to bring a high level of care and expertise into people’s homes so each person can have a peaceful and comfortable final journey.  Holding the hand of a wonderful Lady, watching what was to be her final sunrise is a memory I will cherish forever. I think it is a true honour to be able to work in Hospice Care." Hilary Woodburn, Healthcare Assistant

"The impact of HospiceCare’s support on our lives is immeasurable because not only did they care for Margaret in the way we wished and met our family needs, they also gave us support and comfort at an incredibly scary and traumatic time.  We had previously reassured Margaret that she wouldn’t go back into hospital so not only did HospiceCare’s support allow us to fulfil this wish, they have also enabled us to create beautiful family memories – ones that we will hold in our hearts for the rest of our lives and for that, we can’t ever thank them enough.   Ken, Eleanor, Chris, and David."
