Great North Run

Registration is now open to join our team on Sunday 10th September 2017.

A spectator-lined course covers 13.1 miles from Newcastle, across the iconic Tyne Bridge and onto the picturesque coastal finish in South Shields.

The Great North Run is firmly established as the world’s most popular half-marathon. From just 5,000 runners at the very first staging in 1981, the event has now grown to an unmissable experience for over 54,000 each year.

The Great North Run is not only part of the culture in the North East, but has touched lives across the UK and around the world - with runners from over 40 different countries taking part.

Most runners choose to raise money for charities close to their hearts. Thank you very much for choosing HospiceCare North Northumberland.

Here are some thoughts from our previous runners -

"I just wanted to say a quick BIG thank you for putting on such a good "recovery tent" after the GNR. The lunch packs, sweets, cups of tea, massage and fantastic atmosphere really made it a very special day. Thanks again, see you next year......."

"Thanks again for yesterday the support and tent was fab!"

"Even though it was really tough, it was a privilege to be able to give back something to the hospice. Knowing that every penny raised will help other families provided real motivation to carry on! What a day!"

Time to volunteer?

  • Have you thought about volunteering?

Last year our fabulous team of volunteers saved us over £108,000 in the hours they donated supporting HospiceCare. Infact, we would not be able to offer our vital clinical services without their generous and committed support.

So if you have been inspired by our stories, our fundraising events or the work of our community fundraisers and have some spare time then why not consider joining us today. We are always in need of additional volunteers to help with running our events, supporting our administration team or helping with our marketing and PR.

If you would like to know more you can  either give us a call on telephone: 01665 606515 or by completing one of our enquiry forms!

    Thank you.
