Regular Giving - Why Support Us?
HospiceCare has been part of our community for over 20 years, providing end of life care to those people who wish to die at home rather than in hospital. In just the last 12 months we have delivered over 7,000 hours of Hospice at Home. All our services are free of charge. To meet this demand we have to raise around £525, 000 this year with just a 7.5% contribution from the NHS, the rest we have to find from donations and fundraising.
We are a small but passionate fundraising team of just 3 and as our income is not supported by National charities such as Macmillan and Marie Curie. Each year we face a relentless task to ensure we raise the funds for the continuation of our clinical services.
Why Regular Donations are vital to the work we do!
Regular Donations are a wonderful gift for us, as it allows us to plan for the future and budget accordingly. We already have an amazing group of committed FRIENDS, who have joined us because they value the work we do within our community and appreciate the enormous task we have to raise the funds. Our FRIENDS take comfort from knowing that the money they gift to us every month stays local and helps local people.
As one of our valued FRIENDS, you will be given a pair of ‘Free Pass’ entry tickets to one of our exclusive Open Gardens each year as well as receiving an annual letter to update you on our clinical services and how we have invested your donation
If I join, what happens to all my personal details?
- As an independent local charity, we don’t ever pass or sell to any other charity or organisation and we are careful to keep within the data protection law in how we contact our supporters ourselves.
- We don’t do any Cold Calling of the public or buy names from mailshots – our Hospice Happenings magazine is our only paper communication to our constituency, distributed by postcode and not personally addressed.
- We keep in touch with Regular Supporters, but we don’t put pressure on them to increase their giving.
- We don’t employ any external fundraisers who might use these techniques.
